Post Of The Month Nominations – September ’09

ThinktankPOTM
Time to nominate your own favourite posts of the past month. Gotta say, there was some great reading to be had in September (including Tim's post on agile measurement, Jon on outsourcing and some posts that were not about advertising, like John Moe's lament about the death of David Foster Wallace, and Hank Williams with the provocatively titled 'The Problem With The Economy: You Aren't Needed Anymore'). But in the end, my starting four are the ones below. After a time I'll stick these, with
any additional ones that are put forward up for a vote so please do nominate any posts which you particularly liked in the comments below.

How To Be A Better Brand Planner by Julie Cottin
This is Not The Time For Big Lazy Brands from Helge Tenno
Why Not Take A Moment To Define Success Before You Pursue It by Alex Bogusky

When The S**t Hits The Fan, It's Time To Innovate by Alan Moore

Please add your nominations below…

As per my comment on your original post, Mr Perkin, I’d like to see you and Kate Moss up there.

Would it be depressingly wanky to put a post of mine up? Yes? Oh, ok then.
It was about whether social media measurement was really meaningless.. A debate with Amy Kean from the IAB to which I took a different viewpoint on..

Well I’ll leave out my own social media interruption vs distraction (great apes) post so you have more of a chance Michael.
Now then Johnnie More is too late (early?) for this entry but I’d like to nominate it for next month lest I’m not near wifi.

Hi all – thanks for the nominations. Going to put the vote up now.
Charles – good call on Johnnie’s post. Will hold it until next month.
AdLand Suit – thanks very much – flattered
Michael – the rules are usually that I don’t allow people to nominate their own posts (for obvious reasons), but I’m going to make an exception to that as I think it’s a particularly good subject and worthy of shortlisting.

That can drive my data collection (the right data for the right chart for the right question) and save me grief on the back end of a project.
