Over at two point oh (a blog from Paul, a techy publisher colleague of mine) there is some quite ominous news. He’s noticed that at Boo.com – the URL that spawned perhaps the most famous crash (and certainly the fastest burn…$120m in 6 months) of the first internet wave all those years ago, there is a ‘coming soon’ notice. Can it really be? For those who were working in the web at the time, and those that have read the book since, you have to hope that they have learned the lessons of the gargantuan failure that was the first Boo. And is this a signal that we are in ‘web boom 2.0’? Watch that space.
Boo Hoo 2?

This is either a really good sign, or a really bad sign. I’ll let you be the judge…

Yeah its coming back alright, I just noticed that they have changed the landing page on http://www.boo.com again (whoever they are??) and now it holds a tag line “Like what you want, love what you find” and there are cool slider thingys with which you choose the type of person you are. Still no clue as to what the new site will be all about – we just have to wait eh!

Ever heard of the “wisdom of the crowd”?
Do you trust the multitude?
Prefer friends and family?
Like to be totally in control and do it your way?
What if boo could be all of this at the same time… -
