I hate Macs

Macpc_1OK, not really. But here’s someone who does. A very funny take on the whole PC vs Mac thang from Charlie Brooker writing in the Guardian.

At the risk of starting something, my favourite bit is:

‘PCs are the ramshackle computers of the people. You can build your own from scratch, then customise it into oblivion. Sometimes you have to slap it to make it work properly, just like the Tardis (Doctor Who, incidentally, would definitely use a PC). PCs have charm; Macs ooze pretension.’

Discuss. (I have to admit to the occasional bit of Mac-envy but this has made me feel a whole lot better about the fact that I’m writing this on a PC…)

    In my view point, i don’t hate Mac or PC they are just a product. I’ve never seen Pepsi VS Coke’s users(drinkers) or Vodafone VS Orange users like Mac VS PC users do.

    It is all to do with the community aspect … Apple does community zeal well — from the top down. PCs … well they are all over the shop.
    Having said that, I am not a Mac fan, and while I like some of the aspects of their integrated product design, I tend to think that the community love that they engender only works in one party’s interest.

    kudos to apple to create the sphere of Mac envy…i use an ugly IBM think pad…love it for it’s sturdiness though:-)

    hey neil…if you ain’t too attached to the ‘verify-before-you-post-comment’ feature on your blog, may i suggest you please remove it..
    its weird/ time -consuming reading those scribbled letters in that grey box everytime one wants to put a comment on your blog!
    believe me you can always delete the ones you don’t want LOL
    just a suggestion…
