Alan Johnston, BBC correspondent in Gaza, disappeared on his way home from his office in Gaza City on 12 March. There has been no word since. He is thought to have been the only international correspondent still working there, but it is feared that he has been abducted. Intensive efforts to secure his release have so far proved fruitless.
