6 Billion Others is a project by Yann Arthus-Bertrand that has been going since early 2003. It has pretty big ambitions – to draw a portrait of contemporary mankind by asking questions about universal values – what makes us laugh and cry, our families, what gives life meaning.
Six directors set off across the globe with a film crew to interview the inhabitants of the planet. 6,000 interviews have been filmed in 65 countries and 450 hours of translated and subtitled video portraits made available, and they’re not finished yet. But already it’s a wonderful archive of humankind. Go see.
