Kryptonite Exists

Jon has been manfully posting his series of ’10 things we didn’t know last week’ for the past year. In tribute to such a heroic effort, I thought I might pick out my favourite five quirky facts from this enormous list of quirkology:

  1. Antony and Cleopatra were ugly.
  2. More than half (52%) of smokers haven’t told their parents about their habit.
  3. There are 30,000 wild parakeets in London.
  4. Kryptonite exists.
  5. There have been at least two children given the name "Superman" in the UK since 1984.

The BBC have also put up some highlights with a list of 100 things we didn’t know last year. Thankfully Jon seems to be carrying on his efforts into 2008.

I’m not sure the 10 Things posts require such a heroic effort as no doubt Jon would be the first to admit.

I guess so Lee (and yes I think Jon has said as much) but still good that he kept it going for over a year.
