I love this ad. I didn’t want to like it, mostly because it features a singing dog and it’s too easy to be trite with an ‘animals-doing-funny-things’ idea. But every time it comes on I laugh out loud. And there’s not many ads that do that. I’ve seen it a few times now and its still making me laugh. Great tune, cute dog, great execution. What’s not to like?

i think it’s kinda boring, as well as unimaginative.
i didn’t laugh out loud this morning when i saw it on the If! blog, I was too busy wondering when it was going to get funny. -

I really like this ad.
Kind of reminds me why advertising will always involve entertainment of one kind or another (as opposed to going down the brand utility route).
A bit off subject, perhaps, but do you have any ideas about ‘brand utility’, in your industry for example (‘brand utility’ being one of my pet subjects at moment). -

Thanks for the comments.
dl-j…I have to say you’re the first person I’ve come across that doesn’t like it. Seems to have universal appeal to everyone I’ve talked to about it
Eamon…I guess that all media is moving towards becoming more useful though of-course (as you say) it’s not entirely about that. If you think about a brand like NME, that has multiple connections with it’s audience and each one of them is slightly different in what it does. Where it is right to be useful (by providing services, great content etc) we should be. -

This is one of the funniest adverts I have seen in years.
Long may Cartoon and Fantasy reign in the land of Slapstick. The world needs a damn good belly laugh and this is a first class start. -
