Posters As Art

I had no idea but apparently Chaumont in France has become one of the premier graphic design destinations in the world – no doubt helped by the fact that it hosts the annual International Poster and Graphic Design Festival which is currently taking place and which features a poster competition popular with graphic artists around the world. The images below are my favourites from a selection of some of the winners past and present. There's more here

Posters have always been a popular form of art.
My favourites are the Communist Worker posters from the Stalinist era.
With all the recent hype about web 2.0 and all, people forget the impact and value of posters.
