Think Tank Nominations – November 2008

ThinktankPOTM

It's Post of The Month time again. November's nominations are officially open – so think about the best posts you've read over the last month and please nominate them by leaving a comment below with a link. This is about recognising good thinking and writing so please help spread the word to encourage more
nominations. Anything broadly concerned with the subjects discussed
everyday in the 'plannersphere', as long as it was posted in the month
of November (other vague rules here).
Nominations will close in a few days, following which I will open it up
for the vote. I'll be twittering the odd update as we go.

As a starter for ten, I've picked out 4 of my own favourite posts below – please do nominate your own:

Faster Horses in the age of co-creation from the inimitable JP Rangaswami

The Post Party Sweet Spot from Charles. Second nomination for Mr Frith, with a great post on rewiring it all.

The market and the internet don't care if you make money from Scott Karp

How To Do Digital Media Planning & Buying from Le'Nise. 12 great points.

Hope it isn’t sycophantic to suggest this should be there

Goodness & Happiness as as sort of business karma manifesto

    They’re all really great posts!
I would actually tend to second Graeme with yours: http://neilperkin.typepad.com/only_dead_fish/2008/11/goodness-happiness-2.html
I really like it a lot and it does synthethise and enrich a lot of points running the ‘conversation’
I haven’t read that many posts this past month but there’s this one I really loved. And although it could probably be argued it doesn’t exactly fall within ‘plannersphere’ conversation, I find it highly fascinating and insightful for metrics, media, entrepeneurship, technical matters, etc:

    Agree with Willem too 😉
And i’d add Umair Haque’s “How to be a 21st Century Capitalist”. A very powerful framework for next-generation business. (http://discussionleader.hbsp.com/haque/2008/12/how_to_be_a_21st_century_capit.html)

Nicholas – thanks for the nomination – it’s a great post. One of the (vague) rules I set when I started this thing was that the posts should (wherever possible) run in the calendar month so I’m going to move that nomination forwards into the December shortlist if that’s OK as it was published on Dec 3rd. Great nomination though.
    Niko – thanks. Good call.

    Thanks Le’Nise 🙂
For my part, I’d like to nominate Jake’s post on the 90-9-1 principle… and launching a site to capture great examples of it too:

    Hi John
Thanks for the nomination. Unfortunately it came too late to be included in the vote, but congrats on getting nominated yourself. It was a good post.
