Think Tank Nominations – January 2009

ThinktankPOTM

Nominations for the first Post of the Month of 2009 are now open. So have a think about the best post you've read over the
last month and please nominate it by leaving a comment below with a
link. As before, this is about recognising good thinking and writing so please
help spread the word to encourage more
nominations. Anything broadly concerned with the subjects discussed
everyday in the 'plannersphere', as long as it was posted in the month
of January. Nominations will close in a few days, following which I will open it up
for the vote, and I'll be twittering
the odd update as we go too. I got some good feedback when I suggested last month creating a kind of 'Hall of Fame' of all the winners so when I've figured out the best way to do that – I'll stick it up.

So, as a starter for January, I've picked out 4 of my own favourite posts below – please do nominate your own in the comments:

Rock Logic vs Water Logic – from Dave Trott

Trusting My Working Class Gut – from Mark Hadfield

Interdependence, Chomsky and the Crowbar – from Eaon Pritchard

Advertising's (Over)Consumption Problem – from Brian Morrissey

Plenty of great posts to choose from this month…
Another Dave Trott – Don’t trust the brief
Russell Davies’ new schtick (link is part 1 of a 2 parter)
And not sure if this is within the parameters for inclusion but this post by Umair Haque is worth checking out

Think the Brands Do post was great in January – http://www.digitaldesignblog.com/2009/01/08/brands-do/ – and like how further posts into this month have continued to build on and quantify it.

    Well thankyou,
Never before has my gut threatened to win me an award. I’ll have to print off my blog and post it to my dad.

I find Gordon Comstock’s Not Voodoo blog consistently entertaining and occasionally informative. This post the day he got made redundant surely deserves a nomination

@simon – you may notice that I haven’t included your nomination for Dave Trott. This is only because I was up to 10 already and am trying to keep it tight (so people have a chance of reading them all) and so as I’d already nominated Dave, I figured that would be the best one to drop. Umair and Russell are in though. And thanks again for the nominations 🙂

No problem, even if it means you included a post from February in its place 🙂
