Think Tank – Nominations – April ’09

ThinktankPOTM

Time to nominate your favourite posts for Post of the Month – any good posts you've read that were
published in April, please leave a link in the comments to this post. As a starter, I've
listed five of my own favourites below – lots of good stuff this month. The remainder of the
shortlist will be made up of your nominations, and in a few days I will
post the full shortlist along with a poll. As usual this is about
recognising the good writing and thinking around the plannersphere so
please take the trouble to nominate your favourites, and if you feel
like spreading the word, it all helps :-). Here's the starting five:

Are You A Capitalist Or A Creativist? …from Rory Sutherland

What Is Economic Growth For? …from Mark Earls

Marketing In A Post-Consumer Era …from David Armano

Campaign Unframed …Andy Whitlock's 'unframing' of people in Campaign

Hitting Reset …from Paul Isakson

Please nominate your good ones in the comments below.

Somewhat of a bias since I work here but I really do think Tim wrote a good post on the practicalities of being better at digital/interactive/new media:

I thought Simon’s analysis of Spotify was a good one: http://curiouslypersistent.wordpress.com/2009/05/04/will-spotify-revolutionise-the-music-industry/
However, looking at the date of the post, may I do an early May nomination, Neil? 🙂

this won’t win but interesting to hear these words ‘relevance, value and convenience for the customer have become priorities..’ in the context of insurance. a dry topic, commoditised even, but it shows how these ideas that we talk about are seeping through and being embraced outside of the ‘fishbowl’ as it were, and into un-sexy industries etc.
as I’m a bit sick of hearing about bloody Nike+ and Zappos (laudable as they may be). Ok thats too long an intro, here’s the article by Ellis Williams of Cable & Wireless from the Insurance Times online.

Thanks for the nominations all. Some good stuff there. Going to close nominations now and open for voting.
LeNise – no problem – thanks for the nominating Simon’s post – OK for it to be an early nomination for May’s POTM
