Cracks

"There's a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in."
Leonard Cohen

I was planning on posting about something else this morning and then I go and get an e-mail from Mario Cacciottolo telling me that it's the second birthday of his project 'Someone Once Told Me'. Driven by Mario's personal passion (he has a day job at the BBC), he sums it up as: "Black and white photographs, a new one every day, each person writes a message of something someone once told them". Mario posted a picture of me back in January.

When he started, he just wanted to see if he could run it for one year. Two years later and the site is filled with an archive of images which are in turns funny, inspiring, and intensely moving. So this is an anniversary worth marking.

It also gives me an excuse to post this blinding quote from Leonhard Cohen (hat tip to Tim for pointing me at it) about the clarity and enlightenment that can come from human imperfection.

That Cohen song is amazing, especially on a rainy day.
I stumbled on you a couple of days ago, and although I’m not in the advertising field, I’ve enjoyed looking around your site.
