I thought it'd be useful to give everyone a development update on Fraggl, the Twitter curation app I'm building with Adaptive Lab (a version of this has also gone out on email to our testing group). It's taken a while longer than anticipated (isn't that always the way?) to get to this point but the good news is that we are approaching the end of the process of evolving the algorithm and we think we have a pretty good approximation of what the optimal combination of signals will need to be.
The testing we initiated a few weeks ago has helped a lot in determining what this mix will be (thank you again to all you kind alpha-testers that have signed up). We have a second and final test where we have made some addional tweaks to the algorithm and have created an updated testing site to pit it against our previous iteration to see which people prefer. Your feedback is most welcome so if you'd like to take part in the test (takes no longer than a few minutes) you can do so here. The test will be live for a couple of weeks or so. Please note that the results you're seeing are not necessarily very recent content and the way in which they're displayed will not be reflective of the final product, but all input welcome.
Once we have the results of this test, we'll finalise the algorithm and over the next weeks we'll also be developing our site, the functional end of the app, and the finer details. As we're now into the holiday season this may take a wee while longer, but we're hoping to be able to ship a working prototype within a few weeks.
