My second book on Agile Transformation builds from my first book, but goes deeper into the need to redesign structures, leadership practices and organisational culture for the digital age. Despite transformation and heightened agility becoming a key area of corporate focus many companies still look at business and digital transformation as a journey from A to B. Many still pursue rigid, linear change processes that are doomed to fail, or chase shiny technology rather than empowering their people to drive lasting change. Others dabble with optimising outdated ways of working without ever really changing the fabric of how the organisation works or building the culture that can genuinely make a difference.

Agile Transformation sets out a roadmap for corporate reinvention that is packed full of practical advice on how leaders can develop new operating models, apply agile principles at scale, leverage digital-native processes and why they need to think big but start small. My first book, Building the Agile Business is the result of seven years of writing and consultancy on organisational agility, and sets out the how (not just the why) of digital transformation. I believe that a new type of company is required for the digital-empowered world in which we all live, founded on some foundational principles which (much as the agile manifesto did all those years ago for software development) set out a new operating model for the company of the future. We’ve called those principles the Agile Business Manifesto. The book is now on it’s second edition.
